Wildhearts LED Karakuri Katana by Kamui Cosplay

What’s better than a Katana? A light up LED Katana that also plays sounds! Electronic Arts asked us to bring our favorite weapon from their new game Wild Hearts to life and I’m so excited to finally build the sword of my dreams! The original Karakuri Katana from the game has a really fancy special attach and lights up! So, it was an amazing opportunity to finally bring this blade to life! Hope you enjoy this little tutorial!

Want to build this super cool prop as well? We actually added the LED Katana to our shop, ready to print and assemble! The project was incredible fun and something I always wanted to create! Thanks so much to Adafruit.com! Their light saber tutorial was a huge inspiration for this project. It took us around one weeks to finish the blade. Benni made the 3D model completely from scratch using Blender. If you are curious, just check out our 3D printing and modeling book if you are curious! We printed everything on a ABS 3D printer using white ABS with a pretty thin wall.

You could also add little LED lens caps for the 5050 LEDthat are used on LED strips to spread the light out so they merge together more.
