The collection does not include instructions on how to create this prop or costume piece. However, you can find instructions on how to make props in my book: The Book of Prop Making. You can find more instructions on how to make costume pieces and props in my tutorial books or on my YouTube channel.
Vector files come in original size but are scalable and can be easily resized to your own liking. The designs are supposed to act as a base to help you create your own cool swords.
The files are in original size and can be printed out on multiple pages. Set your printer to “do not rescale” and “print over multiple pages“.
The Basic Sword Pattern Collection is a digital PDF download. After your purchase you can directly download your document. This isn’t really a pattern. The majority of patterns I have gotten here were great, but this was very disappointing. The others all had actual patterns, useful instructions and guides to making the items, and this is just line art that I could have downloaded for free from a google search. It’s not even set up with multi-page images for easy printing, so I had to figure out how to print it off without accidentally getting a 10 inch image. Now I have a shape with a little bit of detail, but it’s not really helpful for crafting as a beginner.

Thanks for your review! This is indeed just a collection of different templates as the description mentions “This is a collection of 15 different basic sword patterns as 2D vector files. The collection does not include instructions on how to create this prop or costume piece.” You can surely also just use google to find similar templates, but it might take a while until you find what you are looking for and figure out the right scaling. That’s why I thought such a collection would be helpful for other crafters. I’m sorry this product didn’t fulfill your expectations. However, please also understand that it would be way too much effort for us a create instructions for 15 different designs and sell this package for only 5$.
